A tattered United States Flag fluttering above antique gas pumps under a cloudy sky near Capitol Reef National Park, Utah portends two possible futures. The first, is free of fossil fuels where petrol stations such as these are obsolete. The alternate is one in which the United States is left fighting to sustain its oil addiction and against the ravages of fossil fuel induced global warming.
